What I do

Front-end engineering, with design and accessibility at the center of it.

  • Production front-end, a decade and counting. HTML5, CSS3 and Sass, JavaScript, React and TypeScript — interfaces people use to do their jobs.
  • Accessibility built into the work. WCAG-compliant keyboard navigation, focus management and ARIA support across interactive components.
  • Design and code, never separate. Wireframes, prototypes and interface design have been part of my work from the start, right alongside the front-end build — through to UX Engineering with product designers.
  • Responsive and tested. Layouts that hold from phone to wide display, with unit, integration and end-to-end coverage.
  • Data visualization. Reusable React components powering seven-plus interactive chart types with D3.js and VisX.
  • Presenting the work. Every sprint for years: completed features demonstrated to product owners, designers and business stakeholders, explaining the implementation and folding their feedback back in.
  • Facilitating a room. Several months as acting Scrum Master alongside a full engineering load — sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, retrospectives and Sprint Review presentations, run on a schedule for a mixed group of people.
